Custom Cabinets Gallery
Here is a gallery of some of the various cabinets selections Silex offers:

Cabinet Features & Benefits
30", 36", 42" Uppers
By offering a variety of options for upper cabinet heights, Silex Interiors can meet a range of budgets for builders and remodelers. 30" uppers are standard in entry level builder kitchens and remodels. 36" is an upgrade that is well worth the investment for midrange homes and allows for additional storage space. 42" cabinet uppers are commonly referred to as European style cabinets and offer a luxurious aesthetic for kitchens as well as provide ample storage.
Full Overlay Doors
This means that when the cabinet doors are closed, there is no gap between them. This is a hallmark of custom cabinets that adds to a high-end, designer look. Many prefab cabinet manufacturers, like the ones found on the shelves of big box home improvement stores, have space between the doors leaving the box frames visible.
Finished Ends
This is a sign of a better quality prefab manufactured product. Some of the lesser expensive prefab cabinets actually use paper with a wood grain pattern, similar to contact paper, to finish their side and end panels. After a short time of just standard wear and tear, this can end up looking pretty rough.
Stained Inside Shelves
Again a sign of a better quality product. Many lesser expensive prefab cabinets will have white cabinet box interiors which look cheap and easily show smudges.
Concealed Hinges
Some cabinets, especially cabinets in older homes, will have exposed hinges. Concealed hinges give a cleaner, more modern look. Exposed hinges do not necessarily indicate lower quality as they are sometimes specified by designers to create a certain look usually in country or French country décor.
Dovetail Joints
Dovetail joints are synonymous with quality construction in furniture and cabinet making. Dovetailing ands to the tensile strength and makes the homeowner's cabinet drawer fronts very resilient. These joints are defined as a series of pins cut to extend from the end of one board to interlock with a series of tails cut into the end of another board. The pins and tails have a trapezoidal shape. Once glued, a wooden dovetail joint requires no mechanical fasteners.
